Ugly Houses?

I'm curled up on my lovely comfy computer chair, wrapped in a pink fuzzy blanky, waiting for my advil to kick in, and entertaining myself with this site I newly discovered called Ugly House Photos. This site is cracking me up. The person's comments are hilarious and even funnier to me is I have not only seen houses just like these, but also LIVED in them! haha. By the way I hope that 80s decorating NEVER comes back as " vintage" when my grandkids are grown. Another thing that made me laugh is that I LIKE some of these rooms and would possibly decorate my own room like them. But luckily for you and all ( not to mention James and Davey) I will try to resist the tackier impulses. Try. hehe

Here are some examples:

I've seen a number of houses with this furniture. In it's defense it's darned comfy
and the pet hairs hardly show at all on this pattern. Usually sets like this live forever
and are passed on from person to person until the holes get dangerous to toddlers.

Oohh this one actually made me shudder. Note the date.
This is not a picture from the 80s. Note the lovely plastic
wrap on the lamp. I confess . I used to leave it on too.

Okay I think there should be a law against white furniture.
Or at least this style of white furniture. The comment person says:
"Bride of Chucky is hiding behind the cabinet, waiting to attack buyers.
Another one of those creepy Dora the Explorer dolls."
Yep, there is a blow up doll.
Also note the weird lamp with the shrunken shade

This house wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the very creepy doll.
Yes that is a DOLL on the desk

It's alive!! I want it. Doesn't the purple just reach out and grab you.
Or maybe its the doll that looks like it will reach out and grab you.
You all just know this would have been my bedroom a couple years back
if I could have had it! hahaha

The comment person has this to say:
"Large dolls give me the creeps. Bride of Chucky meets Poltergeist."
But the crucifix over the bed is a good touch.

I lived with some erm bright colors but this one would send even me
running screaming, not to mention I'd not be able to see because that yellow
would reflect into my photogray glasses and make them turn into
sunglasses.

I'm all for the asian theme, but I wonder if the owners of this room
did a rethink of their choice for wallcolors??

Another bright yellow wall. Add the lovely mural. YIKES! Just think
the difference a different color of paint would make.

Now these two pictures I title " My Future Trailer Home" haha
Scarily enough I love it EXCEPT the color of the walls. I mean if I'm
going to slam my poor visitors with my dizzying array of treasure, I
figure I'll at least keep the color of the walls toned down! Hmm
not to mention the ceilings...

Is that a red or bright pink rug? And the couches are ewwww. Oh and the tasteful blue
area rug to take your mind off the pink and orange curtains.

Keep in mind, that every one of these pictures is from a real estate listing. These wannabee decorators have their houses up for sale, and these are the pictures that they hope will draw in buyers!

Hope this made you laugh cuz it sure made me chuckle!!
