Rooster Quilt!

On for some lighter notes on my blog. I was looking at some lovely blogs to wind myself down before bed. ( no don't look at the time I posted this, I'm a baaad grandma, staying up so late).  It's quite fun to have a peek into the lives of women all over the world, to see how alike we all are at heart, and to see how creative and talented each one is in their own area. Anyways I saw a few lovely quilts on this one blog and wondered, could I find a similar country-ish theme to make a rooster quilt? Yes I said rooster. That is my chosen obssession in my kitchen, and seeing the delightful handiwork in such lovely country colors, inspired me.  So I googled it ( of course) and found some simple blocks on the How Stuff Works site.

THE AWESOME QUILT!!
how darling is this?! And the site even gave a free pattern download! ( in Acrobat pdf)
Free, I tell ya! Yes I do love free things!!
Not sure when I'd get to this, but I am definitely putting it on my I-Wanna-do! List!
I have tons of material, safely packed away in rubbermaid bins, that are just perfect for this!
Or I could simply make a table runner, a valance and/or cushions for our future chairs.
Did I not tell you we got disgusted and threw away all our old rickety chairs?
I had planned on fixing them . Someday. Realized I didnt like them enough to go to the work of fixing them but they were unsafe to sit on. So out they went. Don't even ask about the table.
Oh the link to this site is:
